Why “pretty things?”

In a search for what to wear to a job interview, themuse.com states, “While your outfit definitely matters, the interviewer will spend the majority of their time looking at your face. So, just as you dress well, you’ll want to make sure that you’re giving the right impression, by wearing makeup that shows you’re professional, polished, and confident.

When asking the question, “Do your looks matter when applying for jobs? The short answer is yes. How you dress, behave and groom yourself instantly feeds into the hiring manager’s judgment of you as an individual, or, more importantly, a potential employee.” according to mycareersfuture.gov.
