The Care 4 Program

This program is an extension of our empowerment services that reaches into the lives of the victims directly, and at the heart of Operation Pretty Things. It is designed to give the additional indispensable care to women on the day they face their abusers in court, and as they prepare for job interviews and other significant life impacting events. This program is rooted in 4 foundational principles:
1. CAREFUL
We have created a safe space, and peaceful environment, with protection and discretion at the forefront.
The identities of the women receiving our care will not be disclosed to anyone not already advocating for the client.
Only those approved by the client’s representative will have direct contact to ensure full anonymity.
2. “CARE-MORE”
NOT careless. We recognize and acknowledge the need for extra care during vulnerable seasons. We will go above and beyond to love and encourage the women that cross our threshold.
We create individualized experiences and care packages designed specifically for each women.
3. CARE-FREE
The *Care 4 Program* offers hair care and skin care from licensed professionals in their respective fields.
ALL services and products are FREE! Recipients will not be charged for any products or services received.
4. SELF CARE
Our own care is often neglected, especially during seasons of high stress, drastic change, and trauma induced circumstances.
The women we serve will be given the necessary tools - cosmetics, tutorials, additional care instruction and tips - to help initiate simple healthy self care practices.

We wanted to choose an item that would resonate with the theme of this gala - ROOTED IN HOPE. What better way to complement that message then a purple tree! And this tree is special. It stood out among the the rest… the only purple tree in a sea of green foliage. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and purple is its color. We HOPE you will find joy in planting this tree, and are reminded of HOPE every time you see it.

Details on our Hope Tree:

The Midnight Magic™ Crape Myrtle is small tree that only gets to 4-6’ high and wide. The foliage is a rich maroon color that stays prominent throughout the growing season, unlike regular crape myrtles that have green foliage. Dark pink flowers appear in July, proving a great color contrast against the dark foliage. These trees combat the heat of the south while providing flowers that are saturated in color and never fade. Not only is this shrub compact in size and stunning in color, is also resistant to leaf spot and powdery mildew!
